“I told Hannah, an Amish mother of seven, that many non-Amish people are astonished that Amish offspring are so quiet, well mannered and well behaved. 'Why might that be' I asked. Without hesitation or a trace of humor, she responded, 'Oh, it's the spanking that makes them so nice.'......" http://bit.ly/2wmgO9Z and the paddle has not disappeared from Amish schools, Amish teachers are expected to discipline children: http://bit.ly/2uigueY

I've noticed a continuing outright lie going on regarding the use of a claim that a professional medical organization supports spanking. The person making this claim is saying the organization has a large membership when in reality it has a very small membership. There is a large difference in the size of membership between the two different professional pediatric medical organizations. The membership in the American College of Pediatrics is NOT 60,000 as claimed, but some where between 200 and 600, and it's only been in existence since 2002 where as the American Academy of Pediatrics membership is over 60,000 doctors and began in the late 1930's. The AAP opposes all corporal punishment of children. The ACP is an alt-right fringe group of doctors that support child spanking. Why does a person that supports spanking think its acceptable to boldly lie about the membership number of the ACP to make it appear to look like pro-spanking is some majority position without worrying about the spiritual consequences of this deception? The truth is there is NO professional organization in large numbers that supports the spanking of children in the U.S.
