Question for guys

You're dating a woman. She's been married before. How do you feel about her telling you she doesn't want to have sex before marriage?

heavyone2 · 61-69, M
I would build respect for her and probably a very good relationship. 👍
Shakil · 31-35, M
It's very much alright. Moreover it will build trust and respect. As a man I would feel safer and trusted by such thing.
Mrnotsonew · 61-69, M
I don’t see an issue with it. If that is what she wanted and I loved her.
Northwest · M
I would tell her that sex is a critical part of any relationship, so we should find other people to date.
Cantsayno · M
I would move on. I need to know if we were sexually compatible.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
It's easy to have high ideals...when you're the one setting them for anybody else to adhere to.

Religious doctrine defined right there.

Suppose her choice of partner has ideals and expectations of his own he expects her to adhere to ?
Whether it be regarding sex or any other aspect of a relationship. Including marriage ?

Withholding sex prior to marriage is no different from withholding money once married. Is it ?

And if it's not sex or money it'll be some form of jealousy defined by one or other party as being 'essential to a good relationship' because thats their definition to be adhered to.

When you set such low standards of expected compliance you can understand the marriage failure rate among humans.

"Withholding sex prior to marriage is no different from withholding money once married. Is it ?"

Well no because it's PRIOR to marriage. Marriage should change things. You should become "as one"

What about YOUR NEEDS? Are you supposed to go without sex as an adult man? Talk to her and run if she does not agree.
Freetime · 56-60, M
I would very much respect that.
Freetime · 56-60, M
@CrazyChick21 Yes, that's true. I suppose I also see more of a connection between sex and real commitment than most guys do.
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@Freetime sex is also at its best when there's real loving connection and you're more likely to find that with someone who loves you enough to wait.
Freetime · 56-60, M
@CrazyChick21 I agree. I like the way you think.
Wifetheboss · 70-79, CNew
I feel the same when a divorced woman wants a fancy wedding again. NOPE!
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@Wifetheboss what's wrong with a big wedding and what is classed as big anyway?
Wifetheboss · 70-79, CNew
@CrazyChick21 Who is paying for it. For men, having sex with someone they love makes them feel loved. We feel loved afterward. This is why a man can be treated poorly, but after sex with the GF/wife, everything is OK. Now, if a guy is turned down to many times, the pain is real. We understand not wanting to have sex, but if rejected too many times, the man will suffer in silence and stop asking, or he will find someone else. My wife did this, and I blew up and told her I was looking for another woman who would love me. She did not realize we were in a sexless marriage.

As for a big wedding, A woman has one shot at a big wedding because everything is new: the love, the couple's love. Everyone is happy for them. After that, it is stale news. It does not carry the same excitement. Your friends will fake it and pretend they are happy for you. They prefer a small wedding.
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@Wifetheboss

I never wanted a big showy wedding the first time. I favour a good party though. We had about 80 people, a barn dance and a bumper buffet. That's doable and doesn't cost the earth.

I agree that men show love through touch and need sex but I don't think it's wrong to make it clear that sex is only going to happen after marriage. Sex is an emotional thing, it really causes hurt when you do it with the wrong person. I also strongly believe in marriage vows and how you make a vow to honor a person with your body so sex is not something that anyone should be withholding after marriage. I know it's healing and brings couples closer.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
Depends on how cute her butt is.
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69, M
Her culo will save her maidennesss...
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@BuzzedLightyear what do you mean?
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69, M
@CrazyChick21 so curious, aren't you?
Softy1 · M
I would ask her why tbh
Softy1 · M
@swirlie I knew it too! Lol
swirlie · 31-35, F
@Softy1
Nothing like being the last one to know why all the girls keep staring at you, huh?!
Softy1 · M
@swirlie why would the girls be staring at me? Something in my teeth? Lol
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
No more dating her then.
JohnnyNoir · 61-69, M
I'd suggest mutual diddling and see where that leads
Wifetheboss · 70-79, CNew
RUN! This may be why she is divorced. Understand waiting a month or two before sex, but waiting until you marry her? No way. Being in a sexless marriage is rough, and this will happen if she controls your sex life.
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@Wifetheboss what if the woman was widowed not divorced? Would that change things? I think if divorced, you'd talk about the reasons why the divorce happened. I wouldn't want to marry anyone without properly discussing sex but I would be prepared to wait if I needed to.
Wifetheboss · 70-79, CNew
@CrazyChick21 Being in a sexless relationship is very painful. You'd have to talk a lot. We are no longer teenagers. No need to not enjoy sex before marriage the second time.
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
I can understand that. It alludes to the fact that you might be looking for a more serious relationship.
MrVintage71 · 51-55, M
Nothing wrong in that...just make sure there part/tool works first... mutual fun can be had before"hand"😜😋??
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@MrVintage71 if I'm marrying him, I'm trusting that it works if he says it does.
MrVintage71 · 51-55, M
@CrazyChick21 YES,so you should 💓
I'd simply smile......... and say "Okay".......... LOL
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@ReptilianFromPlanetCrush does that mean you are respectfully waiting or does it mean you're humouring her whilst wondering how long it's going to take for her to crack? 😂
@CrazyChick21 i have seen way too many crack and start ripping off the clothes after a few dates. i do gotta give them extra points for trying to hold out. LOL
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@ReptilianFromPlanetCrush it would be tough not to I have to admit.
I wouldnt be interested personally, but each to their own.
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@TheDeathOCuHullainn do you not think you would feel that through kissing and touch and how she responded in conversation?
@CrazyChick21 Perhaps you might get an indication, but it is not the same
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@TheDeathOCuHullainn that is very true. It's much easier for virgins to remain chaste, they don't know what they are missing.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
At this stage in my life and assuming she’s in a similar stage seeing as she has been married.. it could end up being a huge waste of time. Sex is a natural part of a relationship, i’d respect her decision but not for me.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@DHggmu
Let me put it this way... have you ever known a guy who called his mother to get her opinion of a girl he'd just met after describing her on the phone, before he would ask that girl out on a date?

Those are the types I mean.
DHggmu · 31-35, M
@swirlie I can’t say I’ve ever heard of anyone doing that.. I have no words.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@DHggmu
Well, for your sake, I'm really happy that you don't have any guy-friends who are like that, believe me!
Wayne91 · 31-35, M
That is totally fine. Sounds like she need some more time to get connected.
Teslin · M
That's a tough one. Is it due to religious beliefs?
If not, I would definitely question why.
swirlie · 31-35, F
I'd say that girl is going to remain 'single' for a very long time!

I hope she likes cats! 😂
Tminus6453 · M
Sounds like she holding you ransom by withholding sex.. if i was still young i'd walk but bein older i probably wouldnt care, but it all depends i guess
CrazyChick21 · 46-50, F
@Tminus6453 what if you are doing a lot of other things and you can see that it's hard for her too?
Tminus6453 · M
@CrazyChick21 My answer is still the same, she wouldnt be the one for me
Nothing....

She'll get the unanswered questions answered by the response she gets.
