How did you learn about, or get taught about, the concept of consent?
Something else about the Conscious Connections event since talking to my friend who went to it is that it's heavily linked with the Art (!) of consent, along with being able to read that in others plus express it yourself.
I have always found it extremely difficult to approach sexual/intimacy topics and perhaps because I don't understand consent and how to read plus express it might be one of the factors why I find sex, dating, imtimacy, romance, and the concepts of adult relationships (plus extending that to stuff like marriage, etc.) so hard to understand.
Because I didn't have any education about sex in my childhood I probably also never got any education/learning on the aspects related to consent and that could be one factor why everything sexual to me seems so confronting and I for want of a better explanation block/blank it out now in my 'officially mature' (ago 50+) years.
How did you navigate or how have you navigated through the topic of consent in relation to sexual/intimate human interactions? Can it be learnt if you get no childhood guidance?
