Is There a Difference Between Feeling Sexy and Feeling Horny?

I see the “post pics when you felt sexy” posts, so doesn’t that mean when you felt like you looked sexy, and looked sexy to the opposite sex (or whomever you attract), or does it mean, when you felt horny? I suppose it could be both. Is there a difference?

As a guy, I'm pretty sure I've never described myself as "feeling sexy". Now, feeling horny is another thing entirely, lol. 🤣

Right, so I was right too in thinking there is a difference. @NotJamieM

@Carissimi I may be wrong, but I think of a girl feeling sexy, that would be similar to me saying I feel good about myself. Now feeling horny is more arousal and often you want to do something about it, lol.

@NotJamieM With us guys, the concept of 'sexy' is unfortunately linked to being 'gay' (ie. male but exhibiting an overly large amount of feminine tendencies), so most 'normal' (!) men are 'ashamed' by and large and in the main to be or feel or be portrayed/presented and/or 'made out' to be 'sexy' since it feels like it's an undermining of what being a man is.

I have never felt sexy in any way that I can describe, or been described or labeled as sexy by any woman I've been close to.

A large part of this relates to 'sex appeal' being strongly connected to self-worth/confidence/esteem and the fact that woman are 'automatically' considered sexy because of their bodies and don't have anything to prove in that domain whereas a man has to be a 'buff specimen' (and to a point have to satisfy the 666 rule) to be labeled sexy by any woman that he might actually have a chance of becoming interested in and hope to receive reciprocal interest from.

I’ve never thought of myself as sexy, even though I’ve had plenty of compliments about my looks (before I was old). I think I’ve always been a bit cerebral rather than sexy, although men may have seen me as sexy, or hot, I never felt it. I felt attractive. I knew I looked good, but that’s different. @zonavar68
