A serious medical procedure, not for a "modest man."
I first discovered a varicocele in my left scrotum at age 16. Off and on it has caused some discomfort. I had it initially repaired many years ago, but it recurred. On a cruise recently i experienced real trouble walking but discovered i also had a hernia. I had that taken care of but continued to have pain, particularly on palpation. I called my urologist who hsd already ordered a renal and bladder scan as follow up for renal stones, he just added the testicular scan to that.
It is odd to lay back and have 2 young women exploring my genitals. I said it is a shame there is no mirror for me to watch. They said no one has ever said that before, that most don't want to watch.

Well, it is a little gross. I have had some pain in my left scrotum for a while. My doctors found nothing on physical exam. Funny thing about that was when i was seen by my primary care's female PA she don't even look there, although she did do a digital rectal exam. I was too embarrased to say, you forgot something. Anyway, i was scheduled for a routine ultra sound of my kidneys because i had stones before. When i reached out to my urologist, he simply added a testicular ultrasound before even re-examing me. Anyway they were able to do both yesterday. They have you naked waist down and just slightly covered up. I was on my back and the technologist had me spread my legs and hold my penis up away and they for some false modesty had me hold a sheet on top of my abdomen abd penis. Unfortunately she couldn't raise me up high enough to actually see what she was doing. It took about 20 mins or so and she then had her supervisor check the images to see if any more were needed. A little while later the supervisor came in an apologized saying she wanted to take some more images. She didn't like the way i was positioned so said we need to alter my position. I said no problem. She then said we will need to rearrange things and said she will be careful to maintain my modesty. I said, come on, you have seen all of me already, just go ahead. She then removed the cover and put another below and again told me to move my penis out of the way and she put another sheet on top. Then there were these 2 young woman probing my scrotum manually and with the probe. At that point the conversation stopped and my mind wondered. I thought of these 2 young women closely examining my penis and scrotum. I started to become erect and felt blood flowing as if i would soon orgasm. I managed to avoid that.
When that was over they said they would leave so i could clean up and get ready for the renal scan. I said, again, you have seen it all let us not have fakse modesty. Stay and let's get the next scan done.
