I think that, for the most part, it's a control thing.
A guy who wants to be in complete control may feel like he doesn't have it unless he has penetrated the woman every way possible. It may make them feel like they "own" you.
Personally, I have never experienced entering woman anally. Since the vaginal & oral sex have been exceptional, I have never missed it.
My wife and I trade control when the mood is right.
