It may mean the Republican Party taking much firmer control over President Trump.
We can only wait and see what the Americans do to their own country!
Having waded through large chunks of the Heritage Foundation's turgid "manifesto", I don't know if its more dictatorial demands would be very popular even among loyal Republicans.
That document runs to over 900 pages, written by many people! It lists the HF members, revealing they are mainly obscure non-politicians: business people, amateur single-issue campaign clubs, religious zealots, would-be social-controllers, assorted hermetic groups with opaque names and purposes.
I wonder if it so long and so detailed to deter most people from reading it.
Its primary message is obviously not stated, but comes over clearly as:
"This is how we, the Heritage Foundation, intend and demand the elected President of the United States of America shall control the nation and her citizens."

@ArishMell And once Trump is replaced by Vance everything will go far more smoothly for the Heritage Foundation..Right now Trump is setting himself up as a patsy..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman God Bless America? God Help America, more like.

@ArishMell Evidence would suggest that if god exists, he turned his back on America a while back.😷

Its much more likely he will have martial law declared "Because of widespread voter fraud" seize all the machines and have result frozen to run the current players until 2028. (You heard it here ) Is that worth starting a civil war over? You tell me!!😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Trump as he exists now is probably just an AI generated hologram. AI is taking over running the world don't you know. Trump tried to start a civil war on Jan 6 2021 so he has form in that department.

@zonavar68 I have absolutely no doubt Trump is prepared to take America into a civil war.And his people are well prepped and organised, with control over the Military and the courts. What I doubt is the will of any opposition to stop him. I suspect this is a done deal. It will pretend to remain a democracy for a while. But opposition will be stifled quickly..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman yes, that's more likely than Dem actions against war crimes!!!

The midterms are for members of Congress.
Trump was elected to a 4 year term as President in 2024 and is not up for re-election.
I know you don't want to hear this, but Trump isn't going anywhere.

@Roundandroundwego My comment is factual. If you can disprove something I said, please do so
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@SumKindaMunster Thanks. I wasn't sure how mid-term elections worked in terms of their effect on a sitting President. Could Trump still be forced, or dumped, from office as a result of the mid-term elections if the outcome was a serious defeat for republicans?

@zonavar68 He could be impeached pretty easily by the House. He was already impeached twice. However, to be removed it would require 2/3rd of the Senate to agree.

Not how it works in the USA.

Article I, Section 2, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution provides:
The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.
Art icle I, Section 3, Clauses 6 and 7 provide:
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.
There is a pending impeachment vote in the House of Representatives which—thanks to an obvious delaying tactic by Republican Speaker Mike Johnson—should come up shortly after the midterm election for Secretary of Defense (tRUMP cannot change the title to Sec. of War) Pete Hegseth.
The new House is expected to be far more Blue than Red…
In answer to your first question: No.
If tRUMP is impeached, then Vance becomes President. That is how Ford was able to pardon Richard Nixon.

@KunsanVeteran So not much change then.
