So he raises your taxes, gives you back part of the increase, and then keeps on taxing you at the increased rate - and you think you're ahead??

@newjaninev2 So no tax on tips is an increase in taxes, eh.

@newjaninev2 Chinese companies are eating some of those tariffs. I am ok with that. More money in the pockets of consumers that we didn't borrow to put there isn't bad either. To be fair, though, I would prefer the money directly paid down the debt.

@Thrust
Apparently you did.
Tariffs are a tax on american consumers. The originating countries don't pay the tariff, the importer in america pays the tariff and then passes the cost on to the retailer who maintains his profit margin by raising the price the consumer has to pay.
I know this, the entire world knows this, your king knows this... why don't americans understand this most basic of economic realities?
In fact, by issuing royal decrees your king can raise as many taxes as much and as often as he likes. He just wakes up in the morning and decides that goods from Asia now have a 50% tariff increase and before too long three things happen:
1. american importers pay more money to the government
2. american retailers pay more to purchase the goods from the importer.
3. american consumers pay more for anything imported from Asia
taxation without Congress 😂
I missed that

@IronHamster Chinese companies are forming new trade relationships with countries other than the US.
Here in New Zealand we're doing the same, as are all other countries. The US is no longer seen as reliable, and will become more and more quarantined from global trade as your autocratic socialist government tightens its grip on what will be available to consumers.

@newjaninev2 I haven't noticed any price increases. What's gone up proportionally with tariffs? Technically, I agree with you that the money has to come from somewhere. I am just pointing out, I haven't noticed any pricing changes related to tariffs. Wages are rising faster than inflation. At the current rate, in two years we will be even with where we were before Biden fucked things up.
Aw. No more wool? That's ok. I am sure there are plenty more places we can get winter clothing from.

@IronHamster King Donald's approval ratings must be through the ceiling, right?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@G7J2O Yes, and King Donald personally controls the rate of those taxes and does so by royal decree from his Throne Room.
G7J2O · 36-40, MNew
@newjaninev2 Pretty much. But that's an inconvenient truth.

@newjaninev2 Trump is a man of the people. Great Britain needs a King with the balls to draw and quarter Starmer and Khan as an example of what happens to bad stewards of their charges.
Meanwhile, in the United States we may see an end to the income tax system as tariffs continue to kick in. That's leadership. Don't you wish New Zealand had a leader like Trump? Hmmm?!

@Thrust Is it possible New Zealand women still yearn for droit du seigneur with their King?
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@IronHamster no wonder your wife is happily divorced.

As delightful as always. I’m sure you and your brown teeth (the few you have left) are a real catch

@Thrust New Zealand is s constitutional monarchy, whereas US is rapidly becoming a monarchy.
King Donald repeatedly shows his contempt for your Constitution - what little he knows of it

@newjaninev2 There she goes again, taking a clue from Goebbels that if she says it enough it will become true.
