If Trump was to become the next US President, would be abuse his position and try to quash his legal convictions?

Could he use something like an executive order to 'pardon himself' and expunge his convictions?

As we know he is the quintessential 'post turtle'. 8-)

Presidential pardon of state crimes hasn't been tested by federal courts.

But with the current crop of rogue justices on SCOTUS, you never now.
@beckyromero But the pardon authorities are spelled out in each state’s laws. The SCOTUS doesn’t have the authority to blanket override those laws. They would have to address each state law separately. Such an attempt would be so blatantly partisan politics that it’s very unlikely to happen.

The SCOTUS doesn’t have the authority to blanket override those laws.

SCOTUS is currently weighing an appeal by Donald Trump that could grant him immunity from prosecution for ANY crime committed while serving as president.

In other words, don't bet on what this SCOTUS may or may not do or rule.

Such an attempt would be so blatantly partisan politics that it’s very unlikely to happen.

Visited Venus during the Trump years did you? How was the trip? Hot and gaseous I presume.
@beckyromero Even his bought and paid for corrupt judges have to realize that such decisions would obliterate any semblance of integrity and threaten their own highly exalted privileged positions that they profit off of and highly treasure.

Wait... you think they have any semblance of integrity now? 🤣
Will you be showing your face post election Ms Romero? @beckyromero
@beckyromero Of course not, but if you think Alito is in hot water over a couple of (disgusting and unpatriotic) flags, just wait until the conservative judges try to grant him absolute immunity.

At most, they may grant limited immunity to “official” acts while in office and “official duties” will have to be spelled out.

Only the media thinks Alito is "in hot water."

The justices don't care. Oh, perhaps Roberts does. But the others on the right don't give a damn.
@beckyromero There’s a lot of truth to your reply. But I bet that would change if Ginny Thomas were charged for her role in January 6th.

Not ... gonna... happen.
@beckyromero But you know you wish it would….

😜
You’re a partisan hack. Years ago you had the promise of being a thinking person. @beckyromero
