Where does Trump get his support?

Good analysis:
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/02/trump-republican-primary/677550/

Bottom LIne:
Trump’s path to the nomination is clear.

This outcome wasn’t inevitable; Trump was beatable. His opponents had real opportunities to cleave off his support, but they squandered them.

The reason is simple: Republican elites don’t understand their voters. They spent eight years making excuses for Trump and supporting him at every turn, sending the clear signal that this is his party. They spent nearly a decade saying that he was a persecuted martyr—and the greatest president in history. It’s frightening, but not surprising, that their voters think he’s the only man for the job.

Why Trump won in 2016, and why he's still very popular, and why the establishment will never understand.

@NativePortlander1970 I couldn't bear to listen to it all, but that's a very good explanation of what happened in 2016. What amazes me is that the US Government (the tri-partite government) does not COMMUNICATE or work to govern! AND: that is still the same 8 years after Obama. The world watches and wonders!
@JollyRoger You have to listen to the whole thing. We have been wondering that since the 90's, that the concept of checks and balances has devolved into fights and opposition.
@JollyRoger Yet here's the worst thing, when Congress calls heads of bureacracies to testify, all they do is deflect and bloviate.

@JollyRoger Thank you for best comment, however truth be told, there are no rules in the US Constitution that allows for bureaucracies to exist, nor for them to set policies or procedures to be taken as law. I do not care how much ass kissing they do it pisses off us tax paying voters, when an elected official asks a question, answer it, do not bloviate and refuse to answer.
