Would you be surprised if someone tried to assassinate a US President?

Just to be clear, I strongly discourage violence... and hope no one commit to any act of violence...

But I just had a realization that if someone assassinated one of the last two US Presidents, there would be a lot of jerks out that that would probably say something like "it's about time", and not be upset about it...

Just a sad realization of where American politics is right now :(

There have been several presidents who were hated enough by one side or the other that assassination attempts were made. It's definitely not unheard of, and with as controversial as the last two presidents were, I agree that it wouldn't be surprising.

I also agree that it wouldn't accomplish anything. Kill a man like Donald Trump, and you create a martyr for his followers to worship like a god.
