Remembering 911 and preparing for the future

Today is a day of reflection for most of us. It reminds us of so many things, one is the need to be prepared. I personally attended a meeting in 1997 held at the US facility in Lakehurst, NJ. It was a meeting to discuss target hardening and emergency response based on the experiences learned from the first attack on the work trade center.
The attendees were broken up into smaller groups, all assigned the subject, pick a target and discuss how to prepare it both to harden it from attack and to respond to it. I attach the cover of the manual we all received. Other groups chose the stadium in the Meadowlands, etc., I suggested to my group that if i were a terrorist I would again attack the twin towers, if for nothing else to show I tried it once and failed, i will try it again just to rub salt in your wounds.
We all know what followed a mere 4 years later. Some members of my group called in the day after 911 asking if I had been interviewed by the FBI, LOL.
We were unprepared in 911, I believe we are unprepared in 2026! I hope that I am wrong, and that the divisiveness that we are living in has not neglected the preparation for all cause disasters.

@Yulianna

Glory to the heroes of 9/11, especially those on United Airlines flight 93, who prevented the terrorists from attacking the Capitol.
