I finally found the identity of the man who shot some famous 9/11 footage(and my very small role in it)
Ok, so I used to work for CBS and I was barely there a month when 9/11 happened. A man who I can only assume was a lawyer grabbed me and asked me to dub these camcorder tapes "shot off the balcony of a co-op in Brooklyn" so they could be shown on the network news. Believe it or not, I'd never seen it air. Here's a mediocre-quality tape:

Long story short, while researching a related but different subject, I found the name of the man who shot the footage. I also found out that it was seen by millions beyond CBS News and even made the cover of Newsweek magazine!
I was able to email him through his website; I'd love to talk with him if even for a second, but this day will never be easy and I don't blame him if he doesn't want to talk. Still,it would be nice; I always wondered who shot those tapes!
Needless to say, no discussion of the day is necessary, so let's not waste my time or yours, k?
