Where were you when 9/11 happened

I was just over a year old my mom says though she was getting me ready for daycare and herself ready for class when our neighbor ran in and told her to turn the TV on. She never made it to class but than the university cancelled all classes 30 mins later and my dad who had an earlier class that day came home.

I was in Toronto dropping off my eldest to school - second grade. Listening to the radio I heard of the first plane... and I am thinking - terrorism or accident? Then ... the second plane hit.. and now I am thinking terrorism..and I pinned it on the flavour of the terrorists too.. it did not take too long to be proven correct either.. the planes were al out of the sky by noon.. the quiet was strange.. all the offices in downtown Toronto were shut down - the towers were emptied.. the streets - were nearly deserted... and it was a hot sunny day...

In a mall parking lot to drop off one car so my wife could pick me up to car pool to work.

(I would take bus back to lot while she stayed in the next town over working later). Very sad day.

A few years later we moved to the Hudson Valley in NY. It seemed everyone had a friend or relative killed (many people commute in). Stories of Saudi students and adults pulled from the area beforehand.

The side positive, if there was one, was quieter and cleaner skies when planes were grouded.

Sleeping one off after helping my buddy celebrate his graduation from flight school. Man, I miss him.
