Maui fires, arson?

It's highly likely that the Maui fires were started by arsonists. The landscape and the weather was perfect for such an incident. Remember, we are in a global war and, like the Canadian and Greek fires, the Maui fire would show that no area is exempt from such an attack. The beauty of it is that such attacks can be staged to appear perfectly natural in origin and therefore brings no retribution from the attacked victims. Such attacks are far cheaper than brute military force. In all probability we can expect an increase in such incidents.

I hear you but I don't know if that's true in this case. I think arson makes up something like 10 percent of wildfires. But humans cause something like 80 percent. Lots of ways that can happen, But you're right that they were primed for a big one. Abnormally dry, hot, windy and a lot of parched grass. Fold that in to old, wooden buildings and it was a disaster waiting to happen. Such a bad scene.

@Ynotisay on the weather channei. 85% of wildfires caused by humans

@Patriot96 Thanks. I was close. But yeah. It's a really high percentage. And it mostly happens due to things outside of purposeful arson. In California where I am, the human cause of downed power lines, unattended fires, sparks from vehicles, cigarettes and gun fire are often at play. There was a big one near me a couple of years ago that was started by a gender reveal party. 23K acres. That was tough to take.

@Ynotisay last year or year before 23 forest fires where arson started by environmental activists

@Patriot96 Makes sense. Would have thought it would have been higher actually. In California the average has been like 7,000 wildfires a year over the past five years or so.
