Movie theory: Something about the existence of Kermit the frog caused 9/11
Now, hold on. I know what y'all are thinking. But there's a movie out there that basically proves it, if you know what you're looking for. 2002's "A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie", a gentle tribute/parody of It's A Wonderful Life, sees a depressed Kermit wishing he had never been born. His guardian angel shows the dystopia that would exist if he had never graced the planet with his presence. But one thing they accidentally let slip creates the impression that without Kermit, 9/11 wouldn't have happened. That one thing is this scene, which supposedly takes place a in 2002:
As you can see, the Twin Towers are clearly visible through the window of Miss Piggy's apartment. This suggests that if Kermit had not existed, the towers still would.
