In case of emergency do you have a generator?

a whole house generator that kicks in within seconds of a power loss
@SSDecontrol it's outside runs on natural gas
@RSquared don't you have to run extension cords everywhere though.

@saragoodtimes I do. But am looking into a breaker selectable crossover from the main that only powers selected circuits. Then it can be just plugged into the wall outside when needed.

got one a few years ago after a multi hours loss. mainly on the superstition that if I spent two hundred seventy bucks I would never need to use it.

to date, i have not needed the thing. I'd rather be miffed i wasted 270 on a generator I never use than need it and be supremely furious I didn't have it when needed.

also, first outage, had about 300 worth of meat and other frozen stuff from a trip to the big box store. mine is propane, don't want to store gas and I just swap the bottle when the one for the grill is done.

Yes a whole house generator with an automatic transfer switch. Runs on propane 500 gallon tank. Works wonderfully

absolutely!! kohler whole house...self starting\stop...runs on natural gas...no fuel worries. ran 20 hours during hurricane helene storm
Generators are crazy expensive to run like the price of rent

@SStarfish we have 12 cylinder diesel generators for the building i work in. they can cost a lot run I guess. if you're just running a fridge and a few lights it's not costly.

Yes I do. Two actually. One in the motorhome and one for the house.
