Good that the operator was fired! I ran an emergency call center, we tracked the work of our staff carefully, anyone doing that would be subject to immediate termination.
@samueltyler2 I would hope so. As is usual, when an employee is permitted poor performance over time, a poorly-performing management is probably just up the stairs.
It's heartbreaking to hear about situations where the system fails those in need. It's crucial that emergency services maintain the highest standards of care and professionalism.

That's sad, they should have a better hiring system for that, but still there'll be cracks people can squeeze through and not be fulfilling their duties. :(
And I get irritated by this guy at work who just tries to get rid of you when you only need a few minutes of his time... I guess she can count herself lucky that it wasn't me who was... inconvenienced by her
