My money is on option three and has been from the start

Poll - Total Votes: 7
I think America will act sensibly, reduce spending and restructure tax and benefits to pay its debts
I think America will keep borrowing more money to pay its debts and pay more and more interest..
I think America will ignore the problem and just keep printing money as inflation rises and $ drops

Ours is a fiat currency. Its based on confidence and debt. We're going to keep on doing what we've been doing since Nixon took us off the gold standard of economics.

My question is this. Is all the gold our economy used to be based on still in Ft Knox? What's it doing?

@Jayciedubb The gold may still be in Fort Knox. No one knows for sure. However, the number of dollars in circulation now vastly outweighs any possible amount of gold under US control. And for a number of reasons outlined in the video, the value of those dollars is declining..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman actually, we could have stayed on the gold standard it just would have had a big influence on the price of gold. It would cost a lot more nowadays but it would have definitely limited our ability to print our way out of any recessions that's for sure

@Jayciedubb Yes. It would also have forced the US economy to grow only at the pace its production allowed. But no point crying over spilled milk now.😷
@Jayciedubb
1) The gold standard isn't necessary and countries got out of the Depression by getting off of it.

2) All currencies are based on faith. Thinking that something shiny has value is just an alternative faith.

3) You are forgetting the money multiplier.

4) Look at the fools buying numismatic gold "just in case" everything falls apart‐‐if it all goes down, who is going to give you a premium over the base gold value?

@SomeMichGuy This is true.. As long as there is mutual believe and Trust. but its the trust that was wounded by the increasing debt and killed off completely by Trumps policies..Almost no one outside america believes in america any more. And fewer inside America every day..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman Yeah, I've made this point many times.
