"Socialist Winter Relief Program
The Winterhilfswerk was a socialist winter relief program established in 1933 by the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV) in Nazi Germany. It was a major source of funding for the NSV and aimed to provide relief to the poor during the harsh winter months. The program was designed to prevent social unrest and was heavily influenced by the Nazi Party's desire to promote national solidarity among the German people. The Winterhilfswerk collected donations through various means, including door-to-door collections and special fundraising campaigns. The program was not only a means of relief but also a propaganda tool to foster a sense of national unity and solidarity among the German people."
I had to look this up. Imagine people knocking at your door in Nazi Germany asking for money! 😨😨😨

And they collected money in the streets.
In this publicity clip, top Nazis Goebbels, Hess and Goering show how it's done, and how gladly everyone in the Volksgemeinschaft (people's community) contributes.

That was the general idea.
And if you were a dissident in the former Soviet Union, they sent you to a gulag for re-education, or (if you were lucky), locked you up in an insane asylum. I mean, only a crazy person would say critical things about the Workers' Paradise, right?
