Typical fascist nanny state.

@beckyromero Yeah, screw those people right? Let them ruin their health so my tax dollars can pay
for their insulin.

@beckyromero I'm 66 still working fulltime and in perfect health due to hard work on my part.
At one time I had high blood pressure, and was pre-diabetic. I made changes and both went away.
Most aliments are caused by lifestyle, and most can be reversed, but most people are lazy.
My wife and I went on Medicare last year, since we both still work we pay close to 1,000 bucks a month
more than we should.

And I hope you stay healthy.
But the whole purpose of insurance is to spread the risk. Not to single out people and punish them for doing (or eating) things that are legal.

@beckyromero Thats the thing. It is not punishing them, it is helping them. The "N" in SNAP stands for
Nutrition. There is no nutrition in candy and soda.
Why would you want to hurt their health?

Everyone's genes are different. And what we eat or drink does not effect everyone in the same way. Just as some smokers get cancer and some non smokers do not.
What's next? Punish people because the type of job they work is very physical and likely to develop medical problems such as knee replacements or back surgery? Or punish people who "choose" to live near chemical plants and their children develop respiratory problems? Or tell West Virginia coal miners, "Too bad your lungs are shot. You should have worked retail"?
