The new measures have brought an uptick in the number of aid trucks entering Gaza. But almost none of the aid reaches U.N. warehouses for distribution.

Instead, nearly all the trucks are stripped of their cargo by crowds that overwhelm them on the roads as they drive from the borders. The crowds are a mix of Palestinians desperate for food and gangs armed with knives, axes or pistols who loot the goods to then hoard or sell.

If Hamas laid down their arms and released the hostages, all this suffering would stop.

If Israel lays down their arms, it will never stop.

Twenty-two Democratic members of the House of Representatives and one Republican voted against a resolution on Wednesday which condemned those supporting Hamas in American universities, following a rise in campus tensions over the conflict in the Middle East.

The resolution, introduced by Rep. Burgess Owens of Utah, a Republican, on October 19, was passed with 396 votes for to 23 against, with 14 not voting. It condemned "support of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations at institutions of higher education, which may lead to the creation of a hostile environment for Jewish students, faculty, and staff," as well as "all forms of antisemitism" on college campuses.

That's a good sign, but the Arab countries will need to step up and keep stepping up or we'll end up right back where we started.

These are important developments. France has agreed to recognize a Palestinian state (but this is probably contingent upon it not being governed by Hamas ). Great bargaining chip

Why didn't the world say this on October 8th? Did they think that the Palestinians had even a slight
chance of winning the war they started.

I believe they were hoping other Muslim nations would help. But as we know, other Muslim nations
do not care a bit for the Palestinians.
