Arab world tells Hamas to lay down arms and end rule of Gaza

The Arab world has told Hamas to disarm and surrender control of Gaza.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt called for the Palestinian terror group to disband on Tuesday, the first time they have done so.

They joined 14 other countries, including Britain and France, in signing a statement that also condemned the Oct 7 terror attacks and told Hamas to give up power.

It is the first time Arab countries have condemned the group and demanded it play no part in the future governance of Palestine.

These are important developments. France has agreed to recognize a Palestinian state (but this is probably contingent upon it not being governed by Hamas ). Great bargaining chip

@AthrillatheHunt The Pals have shown throughout the years that they will not abide by a two state solution.

It only took about 1 month for Yassar Arafat to go back on his word after the Aslo accords. I don't think the
Palestinians can be trusted. This is why no other Arab country will take any of them.

@DogMan Arab countries won’t take them bc they cause trouble wherever they go (Egypt Kuwait Jordan Lebanon etc..)
I imagine any statehood will come w the condition that any aggression towards Israel will mean the state will be dissolved .

@DogMan do you think this conflict started in 2023? Far more Palestinians have been killed than Jews over the last 80years.
