Are teachers Unions leftwing?

As next week’s presidential election approaches, teachers across the country should take a moment to consider how unions have been spending their hard-earned money in this time of heightened political division. Teachers unions like the National Education Association (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) are actively engaging in political activities, taking from teachers’ paychecks to influence election outcomes.

The NEA, with over 2.8 million members, allocates a considerable portion of its resources toward political action. In the 2022-2023 fiscal year, over $50 million was directed to political activities. This funding goes almost exclusively to left-wing candidates and organizations. So far in the 2024 election cycle, 98.96% of NEA’s contributions have gone to Democrats, totaling $3,098,592. Republicans have received just $32,599, or 1.04% of NEA’s election spending.

Lol right wingers want child slave labor and want everyone to be in prison working for the corporations. Does this sound like they're for workers rights?

Thanks for the laugh though

@sunsporter1649 Actually if you made the immigrants already here legal, you could therefore hold employers accountable for a living a wage and reduce exploitation. I mean if that's your concern, I know you genuinely care about immigrants and all so you probably wouldn't have an issue 😉

@sunsporter1649 I'm sorry the limits of your intelligence are in pictures.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SatanBurger Yeah, we know, just another avacado picker, harmless, right?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@sunsporter1649 why do you assume every immigrant is an avocado picker. That's extremely unintelligent thing to say, again you only speak in pictures cos words confuse you
DogMan · 61-69, M
@SatanBurger Why do you think Republicans want child slave labor?

Are you repeating Rachel Maddow?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@DogMan Ask it whatever happened to those over 300,000 children the previous administration lost
DogMan · 61-69, M
@sunsporter1649 Shhhhh, Democrats HATE talking about missing migrant kids. None will
respond to this post. You can bet on that? I will post something at the top.

@DogMan https://inthesetimes.com/article/child-labor-laws-arkansas-iowa-gop-republicans

Also historically US conservatives have pushed for multiple laws to keep kids in poor working conditions. Also, additionally, most developing nations are conservative and have legal child labor or don't enforce those practices.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@SatanBurger Republicans keep kids in poor working conditions? 🤣 Democrats just keep
them poor. The work you are talking about is farm work. I worked in the fields when I was
11 years old, making peanuts, working 12 hours a day. It was good for me. I know that you
folks would rather keep kids in front of their phone 12 hours a day, and not give them a
work ethic, so they can grow up and be wards of the state.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DogMan But then I was right, republicans DO want child slavery I mean you are defending it, this is your position so this means I was correct. I don't hear a denial exactly.

food processing plants, construction projects, big farms, garment factories, and other job sites in 20 states around the country. Some were working 12 hours a day and many were not attending school.

https://inthesetimes.com/article/child-labor-laws-arkansas-iowa-gop-republicans

A bit more than farm work as meat processing plants don't count as "family" farms sorry.

I love how you're trying to spin this as if it's just a part time job to teach kids life skills or something. As if you act like that's what I'd have an issue with. When in reality they're not going to school so little education, not allowed to be kids as 12 hours daily and basically employment slavery, getting paid to maybe be able to afford a candy bar after doing all that work for people who own fancy cars and four car garages. Which, if those kids have to afford things for their families, they're doing little else to develop any "skills."

Maybe later in life but to act like trauma doesn't stunt your growth is amazingly simple minded and as simple minded as saying that I want screen times for kids all the time just because I'm not pro slave labor.

Fun fact, some of the best sci fi authors I know are biologists.

Don't act like working your life away is a superpower that makes you intelligent. Intelligence is gained from doing different things in life like working, reading, playing and creativity. The human life is more than 12 hours work daily and it's sad that's how you value yours.

I worked in the fields when I was
11 years old, making peanuts, working 12 hours a day. It was good for me

It wasn't good for you that's the problem, you can't even see how you act on here towards others and how stunted it seems to be.

@SatanBurger You mean like someone who makes rockets that work, building fine automobiles, and runs communication companies is not well-rounded?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@sunsporter1649 Who you talking about?

@SatanBurger I just read the part about me being "Stunted" from working so hard 🤣

Through my hard work I have become a millionaire. I just bought another house for my
father in law. Paid cash 400k. My main house and vacation house are both paid off too.

I have been buying my brand new vehicles with cash for the past 20 years. multiple
cars trucks and motorcycles.

STUNTED! 🤣 I also give thousands to charity every year. I did all this through
work ethic that I learned as a child. I never had help from ANYONE. I was almost
homeless when I got out of the military, I got out of it due to...what...?
My work ethic. I started my company from scratch over 20 years ago by using
my house as collateral. I do all the things you mentioned. Work, Play, read, and
create. I have been volunteering for decades, helping animals causes, because
of how stunted I am from working my ass off all my life.....I am also an artist.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DogMan Honestly someone could say they're the King for all I care, nobody really can verify anything what anyone says and people DO lie. There's no way a SMALL CHILD would work 12 hours, not have any education at all from employers that employ slave labor and then all of a sudden be a millionaire. Especially when factories DON'T give pay raises and companies can't give you raises if they employ children as it's not legally allowed so they get paid underneath the table, sorry but you don't become a millionaire on 3 to 5 dollars hourly. It's actually impossible if you take food and expenses into the equation and different people's circumstances that may have been different from yours. You're stretching the truth for sure.

You don't become a millionaire being a child slave, like that's not even logically compatible with what we know about slavery so there's some things missing there for sure.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@DogMan
So you don't think kids should be allowed to work? That's sick!!! I had many
jobs as a kid. So you think kids should be what? 16 before they know what a job is?

They did studies and found lead in factories contributed to impaired neurological behavior, impaired hearing, decreased intelligence. They've done studies on the impact slavery has on children with their early childhood development. Most families aren't subjecting their kids to work long hours at factories because they have all the money in the world, it's due to necessity, not some moral obligation. The affects of slavery are well documented mentally and physically.

But you know what's sick? You can't think of any solutions other than slave labor. That's crazy to me. There's many things you can do as a parent to take part in active involvement in your child's life. You can create structure where there is none and encourage creativity and resilience with different exercises too.

Like I've never met anyone who just outright said that you have to have child slave labor in order to build character lols, that's a literal stereotype you're doing right now.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@SatanBurger Where do you think there is slave labor? We know slavery is on going in many
places in the world, along with other bad stuff. It is illegal in the U.S. If you know of
someone participating in slavery, it is your duty to turn them in, or you are as bad as them.

I think maybe you don't know the difference between slave labor and work. Do I need
to explain it to you?
