Why don't you just worry about Australia's problems and mind your own business?
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@thedarkside I do.. And if you had been following the conversation you would have notice it was American exporting its values to others including us I was beefing about. Thanks for asking..馃樂
@whowasthatmaskedman Go on still waiting for you to admit it about your politics.....

@BritishFailedAesthetic And in the red states of America (and in that space I live rent free in your mind it seems) I may indeed be left wing. In an educated, professional, Ivy league school, property owning, non NHS three bathroom, two car kind of way..馃樂
@whowasthatmaskedman Correct, I'm a renter and do not own property, you boomers had it easy, and?
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic So I guess you are the lefty then.. Of course, my parents rented back in Britain before migrating. But that was from my grandfather who owned a bunch of houses . You still dont get it. I hold my beliefs because as an economist I know the numbers work better for making every single person educated, healthy and economically stable enough to make them productive and responsible citizens, not by creating an underclass you have to police, provide security and protect yourselves against. The first way grows the productivity cake so everyone gets more.. The second just gives a bigger slice of a smaller cake to the rich.. I can afford a good life for me and mine. But I will pay less in tax and costs in a world with less poverty and less crime..馃樂
@whowasthatmaskedman Quite a nuanced take. I guess me with my below average salary and my wife on benefits are the underclass that keep you up at night 馃ぃ
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic You stilll dont get it. I WANT you to have more, so your kids aspire to better things and so you dont come and take mine.. Win Win..馃樂
@whowasthatmaskedman Don't worry we're not coming to Australia to pay you a visit and take your stuff 馃お. We're not bitter people who hate those who earn more than us
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Probably because the British social safety nets (as stretched as they are) are still better than what is available in the USA.. And we have accomodated several family members over the years when they visited. I am surprised you dont have a relative of your own out here you could stay with...We even have an Aldi at the shopping centre up the road for you to feel at home in..馃樂

Not joking, me and my wife do pretty much all our shopping in Aldi as that's what's affordable to us, is shopping on a budget a joke to you?
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Not at all. As it happens I have the luxury of three supermarkets in my local shopping centre and being retired and the main shopper I look up the specials on line at the two major retailers and shop both, then shop Aldi for items they do better at better prices. Frozen goods, cheese and dairy case items, bog rolls etc. And I have an Aldo capsule coffee machine, . Plus a number of our appliances were bought on their special buys. I love Aldi. Thier arrival here shook up the competition and pushed both of the competitors to up their game considerably. Thats the good old free market. So I shop on a budget, just like you do. Because I dont see the point in paying more than I have to.. Just some of the more processed items I prefer the brand names..馃樂
@whowasthatmaskedman Great. Just sounded like it. I knew you view me and my wife as being like this 馃槃

@BritishFailedAesthetic "You know Nothing Jon Snow".. Actually I make no assumptions about you and certainly not about your wife. (Beyond applauding her tolerance, which I am sure we can agree on) Its likely that you and I arent that different at all. We just see the world through different prescription glasses and thats fine..馃樂
