Schools taught children not to keep secrets from their parents. Now it seems to be just the opposite in many areas of the country.
Nimbus · M
@cherokeepatti Good point.

@Nimbus I wonder if they are even teaching Stranger Danger to children. If they have to have an explanation as for why then maybe they’d watch their teachers more. Not saying all are pedos or groomers but there’s a sizable percentage of pedos that are drawn to any given job that has children present such as schools, camp leaders, amusement parks, and I even imagine toy stores and other such places.

Government was still on the side of America.
There were differences of opinion of course - but no one in government wanted to 'fundamentally change' America.
Nimbus · M
@Budwick That's true.

Television series. There were plenty of sci fi series to watch in the 90's, and the sit coms were awesome. NOW the only things decent on television are re runs.

NOW Hollywood has even figured out how to WOKESTERIZE cop shows...like 911.
Nimbus · M
@4meAndyou I agree.

The price of gas and the economy. I don’t think I could afford to raise a child on what they are paying now and pay rent, buy groceries & other necessities. It’s why so many are homeless now. I lived in 2 different all-bills-paid apartments during that time and it made it easy to stay on a budget if I watched my spending. Retail grocery stores were competitive enough that they would offer to double or triple coupons. I had a good run with that for awhile.
