This is what pisses me off about Americans and privilege

Imagine being so privileged

Imagine having access to healthcare for free. Access to strong pain medication. you don’t have to pay before going you just go and deliver a baby for free. until you get the bill, and technically you really don’t even have to pay it.

the only repercussion of not paying your bill is it affecting your credit. And actually you can pay as little as $10 a month to collections for it not to affect your credit if you call billing and work something out

And then stupid ass Americans go and do stupid shit like go have their baby in a pool of water at home because it’s “natural” aka now The next trend of what people are doing and posting on social media for something to talk about.

A nurse and I were discussing this at work and we were talking about how stupid and ignorant this is . Because imagine if the mother or the baby have some sort of an issue and they’re not at the hospital to immediately address it and they die 🤷‍♂️

I had a natural birth at home
So I can post some cute pictures and an inspirational post for Instagram

Do we still have midwives in the United States?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@RocktheHouse When I lived in Georgia I did have a midwife but she did not deliver my baby the doctor did. I work more at rehabs and nursing homes and when I did work at the hospital I worked in med surg with trachs and ventilator patients. So it’s a little harder for me to accurately speak on these things regarding labor and delivery

Where I live in Florida the nicu and the labor and delivery part of the hospital is always extremely full (of staff). And it’s hard to get a position working there, Because it’s a very good position to have as a cna or a nurse to work with delivering babies. It’s easier and preferable) therefore it’s in LOWER DEMAND due to the amount of people who rush to flock to labor and delivery

I think that’s the reason we see them less and less midwives because why would someone go through that amount of schooling for such a low demand of a position that they may never find?

Just my personal opinion though
