This is what pisses me off about Americans and privilege

Imagine being so privileged

Imagine having access to healthcare for free. Access to strong pain medication. you don’t have to pay before going you just go and deliver a baby for free. until you get the bill, and technically you really don’t even have to pay it.

the only repercussion of not paying your bill is it affecting your credit. And actually you can pay as little as $10 a month to collections for it not to affect your credit if you call billing and work something out

And then stupid ass Americans go and do stupid shit like go have their baby in a pool of water at home because it’s “natural” aka now The next trend of what people are doing and posting on social media for something to talk about.

A nurse and I were discussing this at work and we were talking about how stupid and ignorant this is . Because imagine if the mother or the baby have some sort of an issue and they’re not at the hospital to immediately address it and they die 🤷‍♂️

I had a natural birth at home
So I can post some cute pictures and an inspirational post for Instagram

Water births have been a thing for decades.

Scratch that... centuries.

@DarkAllDay if you lived in a society that granted access to health care where are you would turn if something went wrong (and it does), and pain medication why wouldn’t you use it? Especially if it had the potential to prolong you or your babies life in an instant where something can go wrong

Slavery has been around for decades and centuries too. Men have been beating and killing women for decades and centuries too.

We shouldn’t continue doing things because that’s how it’s always been done.
@DeluxedEdition That's a very clumsy false equivalency, yowza.

You're comparing childbirth to slavery and men beating women?

Okay.

We shouldn’t continue doing things because that’s how it’s always been done.

It’s really not but you’ll portray it that way because it doesn’t fit your idealism
@DeluxedEdition How ironic.

@DarkAllDay extremely
@DarkAllDay Ture but many more women and children used to die during birth as well. If someone was sick they used to drill a hole in their head to let out all of the evil spirits. Medical advancements have come a long way it makes sense if you live in a developed country you would take advantage of them.

@MrBlueGuy Now your blaming me. Why are you blaming these guys in the first place?
@DiliMarky It's you're. I won't continue to argue with someone with such a slender grasp of grammar.
DiliMarky · M
@MrBlueGuy I slender grasp your moms cheeky cheeks last night. Why your blaming other people, goes beyond me
