Why Has America Been So Anti-Communist?

Russia, China, Vietnam - it seems like so many foreign conflicts of the past have been to stop communism, but could it also have been to maintain foreign influence? What threat does communism pose to the US?

@therighttothink50 i think that is why Ghwb's cia shot Regan, using that mentally handicap as a patsie. What GHWB did in his term was open the door for the UN to become communist. Is why things are so divided today worldwide.
