I think he's won because most saw that it was either him or the Conservatives, the 3rd contender not being close enough.

@SW-User Well, 11 years ago one did come close to breaking the extenuating malaise of CPC versus LPC. The 3rd contender being Jack Layton then, on a crutch (which if you think politics through, sad that crutch gave him so much support, but he was very genuine and intelligent). Now, it's that boring two party system
