@TradEmily we got close to 300 million people in the military worldwide. Also one of the strongest military forces out there. We got just over 340 million people in the United States and we got more guns in the hands of the public then any other country. I for sure would not want to bomb the United States.

That's because you are not an existential nihilist. There are those in the west and the east who believe in an ideologies where death doesn't matter, or worse, is glorious. Therefore, taking out as many people with you as you go is not seen as a bad thing. Being armed with a small arm will make no difference to nuclear bombs falling on your head if you happen to be in the target area. The revenge which would follow will be of no consequence to the dead.
