The bigger picture is that if they are not inconvenienced now they know that they would be dead otherwise. Russia tends to do mass executions when it takes over an area. The memories of what Hitler did are still rather fresh.

There is one super fast way to end Russia and war , world need to decide that they don't need their oil and gas . First all the threats that Europe will freeze etc...
