Wars seemingly has never ceased in the Middle East. They may take a break for a few years but ignite right back up - generally the same participants.
The same countries has always been a war with Israel.
The houthis attacked three American warships. What America done was in retaliation. As America has done from time to time.
If Russia and China which are the other two superpowers get into this war against Israel that would cause the US Great Britain Australia France possibly Germany and other of the coalition groups to get into the war to help Israel. If this occurs then it will become a world war --- Russia has its hands full with Ukraine --- China seemingly is just sitting back watching it all unfold.

@SDavis I think it is about time that the "west" stop pretending they just independently get dragged into ME drama. I mean pretty much all the countries in the region are completely artificial and were created by European and later American empires playing risk with real people's lives.
The nations were created based on resource extraction and profit for the empires and had zero consideration for the people living there.
The Houthis attacked the US is providing cover for a genocide after supporting a genocide in Yemen in their own country. The US fucked around and found out.
France and to a lesser degree Germany are also responsible for the cluster fuck of European colonialism.
Even the mess in Iran is the direct result of the US and Britain wanting to seize Iranian oil fields.
As for Russia they don't seem to have their hands too full to drive France and the US out of Africa.

Israel is a US/UK pawn inserted into the Middle East after WW2. Nobody helps anybody in this selfish world. Why would Australia, Germany, or France help unless they get a share of the spoils? The only thing worthwhile is oil. China is quite content paying for that oil on the open market and is on good terms with all the oil producers with the largest reserves in the world. War in the Middle East would disrupt oil supplies to China.

@sree251 since Israel existed before the United States or Great Britain as Nations neither could have inserted Israel in the Middle East.
Now if you had said that because Britain and the United States believe in Yahweh and feel that Yahweh will help them because they help Israel as the Bible says they render aide to Israel for God's blessing.
And if my memory serves me right Britain once ruled over Israel. Let me look it up.

Germany seemingly has changed its tune and seemingly stands against Russia, and they really don't trust China even though they heavily trade with them _ heck, the US most of their products come from China. And if a world war started common sense says Germany will side with Great Britain and the United States after all the war would be at their door.
Oil - well looking at the prices of oil _ the countries that produce and sell the oil are the ones that profit from the sale of those oils. Britain and the US are not making profit off of oil produced from Israel but the oil industries make profit from those countries to people you know the land.
It's about not letting certain country take hold of all of the oil producing areas in the Middle East and having that type of powerful control.
That's why US stepped in when Iraq was messing with Kuwait in the 1990s.
