His Holiness Dalai Lama ๐
At the end of his talk, someone from the audience asked His Holiness Dalai Lama, โWhy didnโt you fight back against the Chinese?โ
His Holiness looked down, swung his feet just a bit, then looked back up at us and said with a gentle smile,
โWell, war is obsolete, you knowโ. Then, after a few moments, his face grave, he said, โOf course the mind can rationalize fighting backโฆbut the heart, the heart would never understand for it.
Then you would be divided in yourself, the heart and the mind, and the war would be inside you.โ
