Will EU nation really launch operation Barbarossa-2

to save Ukraine ?

They plan their troops to Ukraine.
Top | New | Old
Only two EU nations have as yet committed to placing troops in Ukraine and only in the event of a peace deal as a peacekeeping force. Russia has already rejected this idea, stating that it is a red line for them. Whether or not this ever comes to fruition remains to be seen. If there ever is any physical NATO presence in Ukraine it will be entirely insufficient to fight against Russia and will do everything to avoid conflict with Russia. It could be that there will be no protection under article 5 as the USA has already suggested as much previously.

In short, no is the answer to your question.

@jshm2 Name the adversary that the US lost to and the date, name of the foreign General or other officer that accepted the surrender, its terms and conditions.

Or you are full of beans.

@jshm2 Explain what you mean by betrayed please.

If you mean sending close to 300 billion dollars in military equipment and money, then offering our envoys and partners in trade to negotiate a exit strategy that doesn't make any form of sense at all. It's actually quite insane.

But I'm willing to listen to whatever bad information you have and rebut it.

The EU is not a military alliance.

The EU does not have an EU army, navy or air-force.

The EU is not a single nation.
It is a collection of most though not all of the continents of Europe's separate nations; of whom most are NATO members, and it would be their own governments who decide what if any of their own nation's Armed Forces to send anywhere.

So to answer the question.... it could not do anything of the sort. Though it would no doubt regard the metaphor as offensive.

@dubum The EU itself is political and economic but its member-nations are also military allies.

Although the European Union has no armed forces under the blue-and-stars flag, it will do everything it can on the politics of the situation, but also does foster that military friendship.

Donald Trump is inconsisten to the point of being confusing. He seems genuinely to want an end to the war in Ukraine, and the fighting in the Middle East, but how and on what terms seem to keep changing.

Meanwhile Russia is keeping up its campaign. Yesterday its Army launched a missile against a hotle, killing four people. A Royal Navy ship has just spent three days shadowing a Russian vessel accompanied by a corvette on their way up the English Channel, carrying arms loaded in a Russian-owned port in Syria. (That's a long way round for the Russians...)

@ArishMell Russia loose Torretsk after being captured last week. Ukraine still quite strong.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@dubum Oh, I'd not heard that. Thankyou.

Not if they have even a little common sense. They're supposed to be showing up. Yeah they are going to come here and double team our Prez until he says uncle and starts acting like a tough guy because it's bad to look weak???

Anyway, Stamer and Lammy, you probably heard of them. The one that said he wouldn't want him to be at dinner and the other that called him a woman hating neo nazi sympathizing sociopath, and the kid president that got hit from his dance teacher when he was way too young.

I guess they're gonna swing their purses at Trump and roll their eyes and be sarcastic.
If they took out putin years ago there'd probably be no war

ArishMell · 70-79, M
