I don't understand the Israel conflict... Doesn't Israel import more than half of its oil from around Gaza?

If there is a war in region, wouldn't their war machine run out of fuel?

Well you are almost there. Some oil deposits were found in the area that is at least on paper under Palestinian control. Much easier to control the oil if you just kill everyone and take it.
