If you were President at the time....

Would you have firebombed Tokyo and the other cities in Japan?
Would you have set up a naval blockade of Japan to prevent FOOD and fuel from getting to Japan knowing that you would starve the entire population?
Would you have dropped two atomic bombs on Japan?

I would have fully supported EACH of these actions? Why? America was at WAR with Japan and to end that war and save American lives Japan HAD to be forced to surrender.. The suffering and death of SOME Japanese (who after all were the enemy) ultimately saved many more Japanese lives.. The cost in American lives to invade the home islands of Japan would have been terrible.. in War it is better that the enemy die than your own troops.. These actions minimized the loss of American lives.. and ended a war..

Now why all the talk about Israel being told to cease fire and end the war in Gaza? Is the tyranny, barbarity and hatred of Hamas not the exact same thing that Japan was imposing upon America, all of east Asia etc.??? Do you recall reading during the war of America shipping in food and fuel into Japan? Do you recall university protests against the war in Japan? Who told America to cease fire?

Better than an American invasion, yes.

The idea of telling Israel “hands off” Hamas is absurd.
Only advice I can give them is to not bomb Pearl Harbor again. LOL

Some people argue that dropping the atomic bomb on Japan wasn't necessary. With Russia joining the war in the Pacific, Japan would have lost or surrendered. It was more of an outflanking the Soviets whom America feared would get more territory.

@JimboSaturn yes but know that the area bombing campaign and the food blockade were cumulatively more deadly to Japan than the two atomic weapons were. No one felt pity or remorse, there was no March demanding a cease fire, it was a war and it needed to force them to surrender. So why is Hamas deserving of such interference in the orderly prosecution of this war? Particularly given their barbarism and retention of hostages?
