Did Iran just prevent WWIII?

The highest tech missile defence as designed and deployed Israel and the US was just shown to be completely inadequate against even third rate missiles. Iran didn't send its newest and nicest missiles. It sent some old dust collectors and of the 7 aimed 5 hit the most highly defended military base in the world. Suddenly Europe and Taiwan and North Korea are aware of the US and Israel's military shortcomings and the the much vaunted US navy is suddenly a floating target.

Sorry, but I thought the missiles failed to penetrate the Israeli air defence system!?

@WandererTony Ha ha ha yeah no. Iran fired 7 Missiles at the very secure airbase in the desert. 5 of them hit. One of them took out the officers swimming pool. The fact that the missiles were able to elude the 'iron dome' just made a mockery of Israel's defences and by default the US since they both use the same system.

@hippyjoe1955 I wasn’t aware of that! Didn’t get much coverage in the media, I guess!! But 7 out of 350 is a good score?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@WandererTony it is an excellent result. Most were meant to be shot down and overwhelm the system allowing the main missiles to get through. Israel spent 1.3 billion to stop 70 million and in large part failed.

@WandererTony correct

@hippyjoe1955 I doubt whether money was the criteria here. The way Israel is bombing Gaza, it surely isn’t looking at budget and cost.

@WandererTony it will be soon enough. It is taking an economic beating. The there issue is that Israel's missiles take a long time to produce. Ask Ukraine about that
