Very odd statistics

Every day we hear about the death toll in Gaza, with x number of "Women and children" being killed... Gaza has one of the highest birth rates in the World, so where are all the men? In general it takes 2 to make children, both a male and a female, so how come few men in Gaza are being killed and it's mostly "women and children" dying? Are the statistics being inflated? Is Gaza using the deaths of women and children to gain sympathy? Are the men hiding and letting their women and children be killed? There is something very fishy about how this is being presented...

I'm not diminishing that Palestinians are being killed, nor disputing that it's happening, I just find it odd that in a place where so many are being killed that it's mostly "women and children" and so few men, the numbers just don't add up in a mostly male dominated society like Gaza...

More than half of Gaza's residents are technically "children".

Men are also dying, but "women and children" is what people seem to care about the most. It's' kind of like when the Titanic was sinking: women and children get life boat priority.

@Northwest Agreed but those "children" have to be bred, they don't just come into existence all on their own, men have to participate (mostly) specially in predominantly Muslim Countries/Territories, so where are all these men who participated on the making of all of these children? Yeah, you're probably right about the perception thing though...

@spjennifer They are just as dead, it's not like they did not exist. Look at the pictures. It's just a perception issue.

@Northwest Agreed but I also think they are trying to hide the number of dead men who are or were Hamas soldiers too.

@spjennifer Hamas, at most, has 40,000 fighters, mostly hiding in bomb-proof tunnels. They're not going to be among those killed in hospital parking lots or apartment buildings.

@Northwest Fair point, as long as they (Hamas) eventually do get killed as they justly deserve.

@spjennifer That will come with a price. The Israeli realistic press is estimating a year-long battler. In the meanwhile, every dead baby, is going to produce one or mote future jihadists.

@Northwest At this point, I don't think anyone really knows what the end point of all of this will be, hopefully not a year, but something has to come about to stop this violence on both sides.
