He loves to be seen to make a comment without actually answering the question because he knows people will keep talking about him regardless of whether he makes a useful comment.

I think he means to say something that benefits him, tbh.

It doesnt have to make sense, be coherent or consistent, and he'll be willing to say he never said it or was taken out of context if people dying will help him later in some way.
