@HeidiA It will be interesting to see if the dissolution of the 'russian federation' gives Finland the opportunity to remove the russian infestation from the Karelia region of Finland. (and welcome to NATO, Finland! 👍🏻 )
Unpopular opinion, realistically Ukraine can't come out of war as an autonomous nation unless it can take back the areas Russia has taken - including a power plant that previously supplied 20% of its energy. What it can do, and likely what it will try to do instead, is be an area of ongoing conflict with russia and seek financial and supply assistance from the US to exist as a defacto US military base staffed by Ukrainian soldiers.
A lot probably depends on Europe's stance. The US efforts to supply Ukraine still depend of europe's cooperation, if people start taking a "this is not our fight, we have enough problems of our own" stand, not even the US can help Ukraine at that point.
Ukraine was full of Soviet era apartments and parks for people. That's gone. Ukraine will need privatized housing so tents can line its now free streets. That's victory.
@Roundandroundwego The nice new Western-quality apartment buildings will be paid for by russia.
The schools, hospitals, playgrounds, and shopping malls targeted by the russian terrorists, in their attempt to kill as many Ukrainian children and babies as possible, will be rebuilt... and paid for by russia.
If Russia uses nukes to win or other large bombs to win then Ukraine will cease to exist. i kinda think Ukraine is a parasite. They are as of now. They keep asking for more and more trying to pull everyone into war because they have nothing to lose because they are already in one. They are only in it for themselves and don't care for the rest of the world'
but I think there is more going on in Ukraine than we know. We aren't being told the exact truth. We might be the bad guy in this. I don't know' I do know there was an agreement we broke along with NATO that there would not be anymore expansion towards Russia's borders. Russia could see that as a threat to them. They have every right to be mad.
But like I said I'm not sure if I'm for the war or not,
Hell I'm not even sure whether I support us backing Taiwan. I mean we are going against the one China treaty or pact. Which means if we break that which we agreed on then technically we would be the bad guys. I figure it's more complicated.
@specman Russian is running out of precious resources that apparent are in abundance in UK. So it wants to own UK…because it once did.But Putin doesn’t want any other leaders to rule, and he doesn’t take no for an answer. He is old school leadership hunt and kill, king of the hill, I push you fall, I push harder if you die oh well, there is no room for negotiation and yes my people will die as long as I win. And of course your people will die. Because I must win. (All that primitive talk, because that’s how it has always been done in dictatorship world. And anyone who lives in that world absolutely must fall in line. It’s rather astonishing that the US democracy has lasted. I think soon corporations will rule in the rest of the world … and democracy as we know it will end in about 16 years —our lifetime… due to the acceptance of lying, and the lack of self control. And there’s an increased sense of self importance and lack of compassion and lack of concern for others.
They should sober up medvedev long enough to tell him that as of today Ukraine has Patriot missile batteries from US, Netherlands, and Germany, waiting for the barbarians to make yet another mistake 👍🏻 😀
@Iwantout nukes are simply not an option. Assuming any of the russian nukes still work, it would simply turn russia into glass very quickly.
The terrorists have been frantically using the themes of 'nazis' and 'nukes' and 'negotiations'. None of it worked, and is now merely making them look ridiculous.
russia's inevitable attempts to portray themselves as some sort of victim were what resulted in' lying lavrov' being openly laughed at by the audience during a G20 group event in New Delhi.
The bots have recently been told to revert to 'whataboutism'... equally sad.
@newjaninev2 yeah I know strategically that is the absolute stupidest thing you could do it's mutually assured destruction but I feel like that guy is starting to lose his mind and before he ever steps down from power he will do that
Russia is the home of great literature and art. And corruption and drunkards and lying manipulative leaders. And ordinary people trying to get by. Medvedev is not on my list of trustworthy, respected spokespeople.
