Zelensky did have a chance to attempt a Truce but he refused so Putin will obviously march on.

Hmm no, I disagree.
If a burglar enter a house, kills the grand-dad, r*pes the daughter, and then tells the remaining members of the family that he'll spare them if they won't fight back (something that we know isn't true, as you yourself have said he wouldn't stop there), shall we blame the family for not having tried hard enough with the diplomatic way?
The only ones that look bad from this whole military disaster is Russia and Russia alone.

@Elessar Obviously Russia messed everything up and I don't see the way of return. Also war is war and nothings fair in it over theorising isn't our competence either. War = disaster and misery for all parties involved. No arguing that. I still believe Zelensky should have gotten more backup though but thats maybe my impression, without a doubt no one wants to trifle with Russia.
