It's said sometimes modern pop music has no moral, or understanding, and yes this is an old one.. but I think it might be one that needs to be

heard while this world encourages war. And you can't say, you wish the world do more for Ukraine and not know at this point this means more war, and more people hurt and injured. The way out of war has never been create more conflict, ever.

Am I the only one on the planet who just does not give a crap what is going on in Ukraine?
@CestManan I've gathered you don't care upon a lot of things other than making sense? Is it a fair assessment?
CestManan · 46-50, F
@thewindupbirdchronicles Yeah sure whtever
@CestManan If you didn't care, there was no reason to reply.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CestManan Ukraine is just one domino. Would you start feeling uneasier when they do to London what they do to Ukrainian cities?
CestManan · 46-50, F
@helenS Probably not because I am in the USA.
@CestManan The military complex of the world?

My reading is she meant once it gets closer to an element you might care about.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CestManan You couldn't care less if they took London??? 😐
@helenS I'm trying to wait in response, but it's my thread, and unless she feels she can one up a person in conversation she has little interest.

@CestManan I wouldn't say I don't give a crap, but I am well aware that this war is heavily propagandized and many westerners have been indoctrinated into supporting Ukraine and despising Russia.

I think its a reignition or re-escalation of the "Cold War". The Soviet Union collapsed, there was a transitional period where it looked like they might have adopted more Western values then it seemed Putin took over and re-invigorated the Russia Federation.

America and NATO seem to have adopted the strategy of "containment" of Russia now, and I think they are gleeful that they are literally on Russia's border, funding the war machine, confronting Putin, and forcing him to expend resources in Ukraine. The end goal seems to be to pressure Russia to collapse, or overthrow Putin. The West wants to see Russia break up into smaller nation states so they are no longer a threat to Western expansion.

Then, once they are neutralized, we can turn our full attention to China.
@SumKindaMunster Doesn't everyone know the US still needs the threat? They profited large from the cold war before. There is more than one reason why the US is hardly doing anything beyond providing weapons which profits their manufacturers, but I guess people are caught up still as Americans are good guys in this whole sordid affair. An effective tax for America would be, for how many weapons we sell, we give back to the world... never gonna happen.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles Hm I don't know that they "need" this threat. America has been really good at finding foreign regimes to threaten and blame for problems.
@SumKindaMunster Think economics.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SumKindaMunster How has America before dealt with recession? Arming people. It's a constant. They didn't even get involved with WWII until it profited. Why don't they ban guns? They can listen to their citizens rattle upon issues that are obvious, but let's enshrine making guns. When was the last American dynasty economically, when there was threat of the USSR, Cuba, etc. They failed with Venzeula making them an enemy, so this is much much much easier.
@SumKindaMunster It could be said too... Putin enjoys this element, effectively, having the US at whim.
@SumKindaMunster And they can just veto everything together if it ever comes to the UN security council. So everything stays the same. Its classic push pull.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles
How has America before dealt with recession? Arming people. It's a constant.
Not really, usually it's interest rate cuts. That and bringing in poor immigrants to keep labor costs low and continuing to grow the economy.
They didn't even get involved with WWII until it profited.
No, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, that was the catalyst for America entering WW2.
Why don't they ban guns?
Because we don't want that. That's what other people want for us. Guns are going nowhere. We may restrict some people's access to guns, but we are keeping our guns.

You have an interesting viewpoint of America, but I am not sure your sources are unbiased.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles The UN is a joke and completely worthless unless the issue they are dealing with is regional. They have done nothing or can't do anything about Isreal/Palestine, North Korea getting nuclear weapons or Iran getting nuclear weapons. It's not just the US and the West though, Russia, China, and the rest of the world treat the UN the same. A forum to promote their own selfish agendas, not resolve the worlds problems.

Does anyone want the UN to resolve the Russia/Ukraine conflict? Nope, because we all know its a waste of time.
@SumKindaMunster The UN can't resolve it from the defacto ongoing conflict of interest. I love how Americans think the UN is useless when its the US that often vetos any resolution... It's quite ironic.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M

You mind expanding on that? I am curious what you mean.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles It's not really ironic, its the way of the world. Again, its not like America and the West are exclusive in using the UN as a megaphone for propaganda and promoting their own selfish agenda.
@SumKindaMunster Check who have veto power in the security council. It is actually really ironic. Debolish that than we have conversation.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles China, Russia, UK, US, and France. I need to debolish? this before we can have a conversation? Care to explain the irony? Because I am not seeing it.
@SumKindaMunster The current conflict will always be vetoed out of existence. The two parties often found in history having conflict can just veto each other. They know it. So the powers at be before keep existing like they were, with power.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@thewindupbirdchronicles So the irony is that these 2 parties can veto one another? And keep their existing power?
