I Hate War

I hate war! I lived in a country that went through a civil war. I was 10 years old. All I could here were machine guns and rockets, from a distance. All I could see was pain and death. All I could feel was a sadness for humanity.

Today I look at Libya, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan.
Do you really think the baker, the child, the mother, the shoemaker, the business man etc. wants war? No!!! Iraq was invaded and I could say the same for Palestine, Libya and Syria. How many innocent People had to die and for what? It’s not for fighting terrorism, it’s not for fighting dictators, it’s not even for fighting an enemy. It’s for greed, power and money.

I hear people say that Muslims are not clean and live under religious laws. Do you know where they live under these conditions? In the countries that are destabilized! In the countries invaded and taken back to the Middle Ages by carpet bombs, white phosphorus bombs, and tanks.

I hate war becaause it stops the chance for progress, for positive social change, it takes away women’s rights, it takes away human rights.

I hear people talk about refugees as if they are invaders! Well ! Try living surrounded by bombs and death. Wouldn’t you go to the nearest border, to safety? If you don’t want refugees, stop invading countries, stop wars.

I often thought that an invasion by aliens might make mankind unite, all races and religions forget their differences and just unite, but with what I see with corona virus, even in the deepest moments of despair man remains greedy and selfish.

I hate war!

War is, and always has been, obscene. It is humanity's greatest crime, whoever starts it and for whatever pretext. If governments stopped spending huge amounts of money on weapons and started working together to create medicines and sort out world poverty, there would be no refugees.
The second worst crime - in my eyes - is slavery. There was a case today in Lebanon when a Nigerian woman was openly advertised on sale on Facebook. If the world banded together to oppose the nations who still condone slavery, that too would surely end soon.
Then there is child abuse - as bad as slavery.
We have a long way to go before we are civilised.

@Seetie Me too. I thought it was more civilised, but apparently not. I know that from 1807 until well into the 20th century the Royal Navy had anti slavery patrols on both sides of Africa. On the west, they stopped slaves being shipped to the Americas and on the East they stopped the Arabs shipping slaves to the Islamic countries of the Middle East. Presumably it has revived again.

@helensusanswift I lived in Lebanon before the civil wars and i it was paradise! Slavery comes with wars and instability.

@Seetie It seems to have been part of the culture of many nations for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years.
Lebanon was one of the places I wished to visit - perhaps sometime in the future.
because police of the world like war
