Here are the instances where the National Guard was deployed without the approval of a state's governor:
1 Little Rock, Arkansas (1957): President Dwight D. Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard to enforce desegregation at Little Rock Central High School.
2 New Orleans, Louisiana (2005): The federal government deployed National Guard troops to New Orleans in response to Hurricane Katrina without the explicit approval of Governor Kathleen Blanco.
3 Detroit, Michigan (1967): President Lyndon B. Johnson federalized the Michigan National Guard during the Detroit riots to restore order.
4 Kentucky (2020): National Guard troops were deployed to assist local law enforcement during protests related to the Breonna Taylor case without explicit approval from Governor Andy Beshear.
