The nuclear weapons of any nation are a threat to any nation in conflict with them, as are they meant to be. Many countries will see American nuclear weapons as a threat, but that's not to say that they can do anything about it. You could argue that the biggest nuclear threats right now are Russia and Israel as they're the ones making war. They might argue different.

The fact is that none of this is about moral right because no side can legitimately claim such a position. This is about power, influence and perceived existential threat. More powerful countries can invade weaker countries as long as they themselves are not likely to be invaded by an even more powerful country. Iran can be attacked, the US can't. Or it can but that would be a foolish endeavour.

@UBotMate I agree with most of what you've said, but as I commented elsewhere: "Have you ever heard Israel threatening to wipe out another State?"

@UBotMate I thought your original point was about nukes. The whole issue of Palestinian statehood - either now or at any point in history - is contentious to say the least. When the State of Israel was created by the UN after WWII there were a matter of thousands of arabs displaced; the Gaza Strip now has a population of millions - if genocide had been the aim of the Israeli government then all one can say is that they didn't do a very effective job since the war of 1967.
Actually, respectfully I'm not going into a debate because they never lead anywhere good on here. I was going to reply but I've deleted. I posted my opinion and I'll leave it there, respectfully 🤝

@ArtieKat Netanyahu seems pretty focused on turning Gaza into a parking lot and taking the land.

@JSul3 He's concentrating on keeping his Orthodox nutters on-side. That's what they want to hear. I doubt it's what the majority of Israelis want - but I confess I'm just guessing. I was in Gaza City, a few months before the 1973 war - I know I wouldn't have recognised the place before the current campaign.
