It's a major loss for Ukraine, not for NATO. NATO would be subsidizing them for years, not to mention the massive amount of corruption apparent in the Ukrainian government.

@SumKindaMunster NATOs power was challenged and it folded. It certainly is a major loss and humiliation for NATO.

@SumKindaMunster NATO tasked itself with the security of Ukraine, now not only is Ukraine accession off the table but so too NATO peacekeeping troops including US boots. These are serious concession all before negotiations have begun. This was after all NATOs little project.

@SW-User Ok I see your point...its reputational, NATO put a lot on the line for Ukraine and now they are backing off.
