Is "believing in capitalism" the same thing as "hating communists"?

No. There's a misconception that there's only two political trains of thought. Liberal and conservative. And that conservatives are the only ones for capitalism.

Even the Chinese so called communist party fully endorses capitalism. The main difference is they own part of the corporations. Why the Bytedance/Tiktok situation was a big deal here in the USA.
No. There is alway moew than one way to be right. The trick is to avoid being wrong..And with economic philosophies, the system isnt the problem.. People are the problem.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman so take away the problem and you have neither economics or philosophy. And paradoxically (or contradictory) the system doesnt exist
@gol979 By George! I think you've got it! Yes. The systems rely on two things . That humans are honest. And that humans are rational. So to get it anything like right we have to calculate and allow for how smart and how shifty people are going to be in a giving set of circumstances, and extrapolate that over time.. Now would you like to see me juggle bowling balls working chainsaws and kittens while riding a monocycle on a tightrope blindfolded??😷

@jshm2 Would add that even under the USSR oligarchs were a thing. They just didn't have quite as much control as today.

There never really was such a thing as a communist country.

Meaning "classless" under Marx.
