I am done arguing with fake news and lies made or parroted by certain members on SW.

I will not argue, but, to provide facts and truth, I will post proven facts.

If that bothers you, then don't read my posts.

Also, I couldn't care less if the truth bothers you.

If you come on my post and are not civil, post fake news or otherwise lie, I will delete your comment.

If it continues, I will close the post to comments.

Good luck with that!

Those are very honourable ideas but unfortunately there are so many people about who are not interested in anything, whether facts, mistakes or downright lies, not supporting their dogma.

Worse, many such people become very aggressive when questioned. No-one like being proven wrong, unless favourably so of course; but those types seem terrified even of being questioned, and of other opinions. They develop protective "them-and-us" shrouds: either you believe in A or you are a fool or a liar, even enemy... never mind all those believing equally validly in B or C or D....

Some are manipulative bullies, too, using not only naked abuse but also more subtle tricks common in the behaviour legally classed as "coercive and controlling". One is to refuse to present any explanation or supporting evidence of their ideas, while demanding you provide them for yours, especially if they realise you cannot do so personally. Another is continually moving their rationale, e.g. by denying or twisting anything they had already claimed some while previously.

I was arguing, along with several others, against a Flat-Earthist for some while before I twigged he was behaving in that fashion, using both tricks as well as openly insulting my intelligence.

Essentially, they are not interested in reality, only in wanting every one to adopt their ideology.
