It would not have been "wi-fi" as now understood of course, but she was a physicist and electronics engineer making significant contributions in her field. And why not? Unusual for her time because old ideas about what women could achieve still lingered in much of "Western" society.

I have no idea if you're a misogynist, but Hedy Lamarr's inventions were mostly exaggerated. The patent for frequency hopping turned out not to be useful.
